Rhymes and Dykes

Connecting  my roots, - not far from Romney Marsh with my new habitat in the hills above the Levels, tracking two landscapes shaped by human water management.  Walking gives me a vital sense of calm in the current climate, a space for mental health and observation where the flat land is carved into rigid lines of rhynes and dykes, and  the names are embedded into the landscape - Dead Woman's Ditch and Dumb Woman's Lane.  Painting this way (sometimes expanding into 3D, sometimes not) is an act of letting go, translating a tension onto a surface in a process led language.
