In Landscape

Working with discarded materials, I am interested in how histories of use, damage and repair continue to inhabit both objects and landscapes.  Some paintings seem to arrive already carrying the memory of a place.  Rather than beginning with a specific location or subject, they gradually find where they belong.  Photographing the work becomes another stage of its making, placing it in landscapes where visual and material echoes begin to emerge.  I am drawn to places shaped by extraction, recovery and ecological succession, not as subjects to be depicted, but as sites where the paintings seem to enter into dialogue with the land.  By documenting these encounters, I hope to leave associations open, allowing the work to suggest connections rather than define them.

Recent work from August 2026 have been addressing the infernal heat this summer, drought and a field fire on the farm where I live and work.  Documentation here on Instagram.
