Stills from small films I make, some of which I post on Instagram

I constantly return to the stories of my childhood, not to seek comfort but to prize them open. Guided by thinkers like Marina Warner and Angela Carter, I revisit these tales through the lens of a middle-aged woman, stepping into iconic characters and reenacting them in my own face and body. Dressing up becomes a method of subversion: a way to inhabit, disrupt, and gently parody the folklore canon while exposing the anxieties, humour, and cultural baggage woven into these narratives. This work lets me test how innocence, sweetness, and fantasy behave when filtered through contemporary turbulence and an adult gaze, part homage, part critique and always a negotiation between past and present.
