Becoming Other
Becoming Other is an ongoing collaborative project between Jenni Dutton and myself, born from a relationship with the River Washford. While the river now sits more in the background, her influence remains embedded in the work as a formative force rather than an active co-author. The project explores acts of transformation, shapeshifting and becoming through sculpture, writing, performance, mask-making, sound and movement, weaving future folklore that responds to ecological memory, human longing and more-than-human ways of being. Emerging from a place of listening to landscape, Becoming Other asks how stories, bodies and identities might soften, slip and reconfigure in uncertain times. The first phase of the project will culminate in a riverside commitment ceremony for World Water Day, 22 March 2026. Here's our Instagram.
